The Seagulls are unbeaten in their five games at Broadfield Stadium and the Amex Stadium this season.
When speaking to the media ahead of this afternoon’s Women’s League Cup fixture against Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion boss Vidošić said that his side are keen to continue their good home form whilst taking another step towards qualification for the quarter-finals.
“We have a great record at home, so we don’t want to lose,” Vidošic said. “We’ve had a good week to prepare, the girls have been excellent. We are determined in this competition, we want to stay at the top of the table, secure that progression into the next phase and have our name in the draw.
“We know we are playing a tough opponent that we played a couple of weeks ago. We know that they’ll have to adjust a little bit from the last time, so they’ll have us guessing until kick-off. We are looking forward to playing Leicester again and I’m sure it’ll be a tough game again.”
Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Leicester City 1-0 in the league just a few weeks ago and Vidošić says that his side are prepared for some adaptations from The Foxes this afternoon.
He said “I think it’ll be different to last time, I think they’ll need to change something just because of how dominant we were. The scoreline didn’t reflect that with the 1-0 but I think we limited them to two shots in the whole game whereas we had a couple more good chances to put the game away.
“I expect a little bit different but we’re not too sure. They’ve adapted a little bit from game-to-game but we will prepare for a couple of different scenarios. We will focus on ourselves, what we need to do and we will be able to adapt in-game if there are any changes.”
The Women’s League Cup is often ranked in third place in terms of clubs’ priorities, however, Vidošić wants his side to be successful in every competition.
He said “We will [compete on all fronts], I take each competition seriously. It’s doesn’t matter if it’s the League Cup, FA Cup, WSL, a friendly game, for me, it doesn’t really matter too much.
“It’s a competition that we want to win, it’s an opportunity to bring silverware to the club. We know we will have a busier schedule with the more competitions that we are in, especially after January, but I think we’ve got good depth, good understanding throughout the players and obviously, we will need a little bit of luck with injuries.
“We will take it game-by-game and we will always put out the team that we feel is best to win the game.”
