Brighton & Hove Albion have submitted a £30m offer to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic, with leading European clubs also interested.
Vuskovic is minded to join a club like Brighton as the next step in his career, then potentially progress. The Athletic reported in June that he would wait until after the World Cup to decide his next steps.
The 19-year-old knows Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler from Germany, having spent the season on loan at Hamburg, where his brother Mario also plays, and there is mutual trust. He believes Brighton provide a strong pathway for young talent.
A Croatia international regarded as one of the leading young defenders, he agreed a move from Hajduk Split to Spurs in September 2023 for around £12m and officially joined last year after turning 18. His contract runs to 2030.
Vuskovic scored six goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances for Hamburg in 2025-26. He has yet to make a competitive Spurs debut, though he featured in pre-season. He has five senior caps for Croatia and is in their 26-man squad for this summer’s World Cup.
Brighton’s bid arrives as Spurs pursue defender Jan Paul van Hecke, for whom they have submitted two offers. They have also secured Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
