According to WeAreBrighton.com, Fabian Hurzeler offered minimal updates before Arsenal’s visit, with Femi Azeez still out and Jaouen Hadjam fit.
Azeez had been a possibility for the 5-0 against Coventry City and the 3-2 at Old Trafford, but remains unavailable.
Hadjam debuted at Manchester United, failing to close Shea Lacey for the opener, then sent a 40-yard switch for Charalampos Kostoulas to spark the fightback.
He later went off with a knock, though Hurzeler said the Algerian left back has recovered and is available.
Otherwise it is as you were. Long-term absentees Jack Hinshelwood, Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, Mats Wieffer, Stefanos Tzimas and Evan Ferguson are not expected back until at least mid October.
Logic points to an unchanged XI, yet Brighton have had unexplained absences. Previous “mystery injury” cases include Yasin Ayari, Georginio Rutter and Hinshelwood, later ruled out for six weeks.
Ayari and Rutter returned quickly and are available, unless one becomes this week’s mystery withdrawal. Team news drops at 1.45pm.
Before last season’s Amex meeting, Hurzeler’s remarks on time wasting irked many Arsenal fans. The Gunners then took 30 minutes 51 seconds to restart play while protecting Bukayo Saka’s early goal.
This time he was diplomatic, noting last season is over, he congratulated Arsenal as deserved champions, and that they have started impressively. He said it is Brighton’s challenge to compete.
Just preferably not with Bart Verbruggen forgetting which shoulder to favour.
