Brighton host Carabao Cup holders Liverpool in the fourth round of the competition at the AMEX Stadium tonight.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side booked their place in the last 16 by edging out Wolves in a 3-2 victory last month.
Liverpool reached this stage by demolishing West Ham 5-1 at Anfield, with Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo each scoring braces.
Wednesday night’s tie will be the first of two meetings between the sides this week, as Brighton make the trip Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.
Hurzeler will have to do without Georginio Rutter as the Frenchman is cup-tied having already played in this season’s competition with former club Leeds United. Jack Hinshelwood has recovered from his minor muscular issue, but Yankuba Minteh will require a late fitness test to determine his availability.
There are no fresh injury concerns in the Liverpool camp following their game against Arsenal. Conor Bradley is back available but Slot is still unable to call upon the injured quartet of Diogo Jota, Federico Chiesa, Alisson and Harvey Elliott.

The Seagulls were made to rue their missed chances at the weekend as they threw away a two-goal advantage in the dying embers against Wolves.
The points looked all but secured after Evan Ferguson sealed his return to the side with a goal that put the hosts 2-0 up with five minutes remaining.
But Wolves staged an unlikely response as Rayan Ait-Nouri swiftly halved the deficit two minutes later before Matheus Cunha’s deflected equaliser nestled into the back of the net off the crossbar.
That disappointment aside, Fabian Hurzeler has made a tremendous start to life on the South Coast. The German’s side have only lost once all season, a 4-2 defeat at Chelsea. Brighton are unbeaten at home this season in five matches.

The Merseyside club drew their first game of the campaign at the weekend, as nothing could separate the Reds and Arsenal.
Liverpool showed real resilience to earn a valuable point as they twice came from behind to ensure they didn’t make the long journey home empty-handed.
Arne Slot’s side are firing on all cylinders thus far. They have claimed maximum points from their three Champions League games and sit a point behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in the title race.
Liverpool are yet to lose on their travels in 2024/25 and the draw with Arsenal was the first time they have dropped points away from home this campaign
Liverpool survived an early scare to claim all three points over the Seagulls at Anfield back in March.
Roberto de Zerbi’s outfit flew out of the traps, as seasoned striker Danny Welbeck blasted the ball into Alisson’s net inside two minutes.
But Liverpool would restore parity just shy of the half-hour mark. Luis Diaz profited when Joel Veltman’s unorthodox interception presented the ball to the Colombian to poke in the leveller.
From that moment on it was one-way traffic as Liverpool desperately searched for a goal to complete the comeback.
Mohamed Salah was the hero once again at Anfield, as the Egyptian stroked the winner past Bart Verbruggen after being played through by an incisive pass by former Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. Salah’s strike proved decisive as Brighton could not muster a response of their own.
Brighton: Steele; Lamptey, Van Hecke, Igor, Hinshelwood; Enciso, Wieffer, Moder, Adingra; Gruda, Ferguson.
Liverpool: Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Gomez, Tsimikas; Endo, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Nunez.
