Bristol City are the second-top goalscorers in the Championship so far this season, behind only Coventry City.
Bristol City are the second-top goalscorers in the Championship this season behind only Coventry City, who scored seven goals in one game against QPR.
Under Austrian head coach Gerhard Struber, Bristol City have begun the new Championship campaign in positive fashion as they aim to build upon a strong season last year, where they finished in the play-offs.
Struber replaced the outbound Liam Manning this summer, with the former MK Dons heading to his boyhood club Norwich City to take the reins at Carrow Road.
Last season, Anis Mehmeti finished as the Robins top goalscorer with 12 strikes, followed closely by Nakhi Wells, who left the club this summer to join Luton Town upon the expiry of his deal at Ashton Gate.
After that, both Ross McCrorie and Scott Twine finished the season with five goals each, with goal-scoring not a particularly strong or weak point last campaign, scoring 59 league goals in total.
However, that seems to have changed this year, with the Robins having already hit 12 league goals in just five games so far this season, giving Bristol City fans and manager Struber a lot to be excited about at the top end of the pitch.
With 12 goals in five games, Bristol City are averaging 2.4 goals scored per game so far this season, and a large factor of that is down to the excellent displays of both Twine and Mehmeti, in particular.
Both Twine and Mehmeti have scored three goals and grabbed two assists each in the early stages of this season and are the joint top goal contributors this season alongside Coventry's Haji Wright, Stoke City's Sorba Thomas and Norwich's Josh Sargent.
Looking at the average ratings of players in the Championship on FotMob, of players to have played in all five games so far this season, three Bristol City players make the top six.
Twine takes top spot with an average rating of 7.90, Mehmeti takes fourth with an average rating of 7.84 and goalkeeper Radek Vitek takes sixth with an average rating of 7.76 (the highest rated keeper in the league thus far).
Elsewhere in the squad, Emil Riis has scored three times and grabbed one assist since his free transfer from Preston North End, whilst Ross McCrorie has one goal and three assists from his wing-back role.
Struber has got his new side ticking since his arrival at the club, as Bristol City currently sit third in the Championship table behind only Middlesbrough and Stoke, and remain one of only three teams yet to be defeated in the league this season.
Whether the Robins will be able to sustain their clinical nature in front of goal for the rest of the season remains to be seen, but there is no reason that it won't, such as the positivity surrounding the club at the moment.
According to FotMob, their expected goals scored this season is 7.7, meaning they have scored over four more goals than data would suggest they should have done.
They are behind Coventry, Southampton and Ipswich in terms of expected goals this season and are the biggest over-performers within this metric.
A positive outlook on this would be that they are incredibly clinical in front of goal now due to the quality of players they have, whereas a negative outlook would suggest that this over-performance is unsustainable and will catch up to them at some point.
Whatever the case, Bristol City fans will not care at the moment as they enjoy the fine form their side is displaying in front of goal at the moment.
