Bristol City are keen on signing Delano Burgzorg in the January transfer window
Bristol City are interested in a deal to sign Delano Burgzorg from Middlesbrough this January.
According to The Northern Echo, Gerhard Struber has added the forward to their shortlist of options as they look to bolster the squad during the winter market.
Burgzorg has been a regular presence in the Boro side so far this season, but he has been unable to nail down a consistent place in the starting lineup.
The 27-year-old, who is said to earn base salary of £20k-a-week, is in his second season at the Riverside, and he has started 34 of his 64 appearances in the Championship.
So far this campaign, the forward has contributed one goal and two assists, with Kim Hellberg’s side in the mix for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Bristol City are admirers of the 27-year-old as they seek options that can bolster their attacking options this January.
It’s believed that Middlesbrough are open to offers for the forward, but they are only willing to do so as long as he can be replaced.
The Teesside outfit will need to sell players to make more room in their squad for incomings amid reported interest in Jeremy Sarmiento, who could arrive in place of Burgzorg.
It was claimed on Thursday afternoon that Middlesbrough agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Leo Castledine, which will be their first arrival of the window.
It remains to be seen what kind of fee it will take to convince the Championship side to sell to the Robins, with the player’s contract running until the summer of 2028.
Bristol City are 10th in the table ahead of this weekend’s third round FA Cup action in which they face Watford at Ashton Gate.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough are second as they prepare to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

If Middlesbrough can sell Burgzorg and then bring in somebody like Sarmiento, then it may be beneficial for all parties for this deal to go through.
The forward has been a useful squad player for Boro since he joined last season, but he is far from a key figure in the squad, so his departure wouldn’t be a massive blow.
Yet he could still be helpful for Struber’s side in the second half of the campaign in their bid to maintain their play-off place from the previous campaign.
He’s proven in the Championship, and should be able to slot into the Robins’ setup, so this could be a move that works for all parties, if it goes through.
