Bristol Rovers are fighting to beat off the relegation threat in League One and on Tuesday night secured one point against Stockport at the Mem with the help of Swinkels’ injury-time goal.

Now on Saturday the Gas will welcome relegation rivals Burton at home and they will have an opportunity to increase the gap between themselves and the relegation zone with a win.

Swinkels, who joined Bristol Rovers from Aston Villa in the winter window, admitted that he was impressed with the support they received from the Gas’ faithful during the final part of the game.

Now the Aston Villa starlet has urged the Bristol Rovers fanbase to get behind the team during their upcoming game against Burton to get them over the line.

When asked how important was the support at the Mem to help them against Stockport, Swinkels told Bristol Rovers TV: “Very, very important.

“I think for me I have been there twice now in the stadium and the last ten minutes were incredible and very nice to have the fans behind us.

“Obviously we need them to do it and we can’t do it without them.

[We have] got another home game on Saturday, so we need them again then and hopefully we can give them something back.”

Bristol Rovers have picked up seven points from their last three home games and they will be keen to add to that number when they face Burton at the weekend.
