Sheffield United snatched a 1-0 win at Fratton Park as Andre Brooks struck in the 90th minute, lifting The Blades from 17th to 15th in the Championship and dropping Portsmouth from 20th to 21st.

Brooks pounced from close range in the 90th minute after a fast break, punishing Portsmouth's missed chances.

Michael Cooper kept The Blades in it with seven saves as Portsmouth pressed for a breakthrough. The visitors also stood firm under pressure, racking up 43 clearances.

After Marlon Pack's introduction, Portsmouth found a rhythm with crosses and set pieces, with Jacob Brown denied from close range and Colby Bishop blocked amid a late barrage.

Seven minutes of added time were indicated, and Millenic Alli struck the left post in the sixth minute of second half stoppage time as the hosts chased an equaliser.

Portsmouth registered 23 attempts, seven on target, and delivered 11 corners with 58.5% possession. The Blades produced 12 attempts and three on target, making their late break count.

Next, Portsmouth visit Charlton Athletic. The Blades host Sheffield Wednesday.
