Nathaniel Brown made his debut for Germany in a 4-0 over Luxembourg, while seven other Eagles featured for their respective countries on Friday.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann’s side cruised past Luxembourg 4-0, while Antonio Di Salvo’s U21s went down to Greece 3-2. The senior international side were very much the favourites heading into the match in Sinsheim and did not disappoint the home crowd, with Jonathan Burkardt coming on for the last half an hour and Nathaniel Brown replacing David Raum in the 82nd minute for his senior international debut. Robin Koch watched the match from the bench, as was the case with Elias Baum and Nnamdi Collins for the U21s.
Bahoya with two assists, Fenyö on target
Three Eagles played the full 90 minutes: Ellyes Skhiri for Tunisia in their 6-0 win over São Tomé and Príncipe, Arthur Theate in Belgium’s 0-0 draw with North Macedonia, and Oscar Højlund in Denmark U21s’ 1-1 draw with Austria. Jean-Mattéo Bahoya also made an impact for France’s U21s, with the winger setting up two of the goals in his team’s 6-0 win over Faeroe Islands. Noah Fenyö, meanwhile, gave Hungary’s U21 side a 3-2 lead over Ukraine, who equalised to tie 3-3.
Ritsu Doan played 78 minutes in Japan’s 2-2 draw in a friendly with Paraguay. There was also an Eintracht derby, with Aurèle Amenda’s Switzerland seeing off Hugo Larsson’s Sweden 2-0. Neither Eagle featured in the match, however, with Michy Batshuayi also an unused substitute for Belgium.
Can Uzun will be hoping to feature for Turkey on Saturday night when they face Bulgaria away in Sofia, with the match kicking off at 20:45 CEST.
