German juggernaut Bayern Munich have put themselves in the driver's seat during their DFB Supercup clash against rival Borussia Dortmund ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 Bundesliga campaign.
The annual curtain raiser featuring the two biggest clubs in the country has, unfortunately for Die Schwarzgelben supporters, reverted to familiar territory after Vincent Kompany's men went into the dressing room at halftime completely in control.
Olise's late effort before the break saw the mercurial Frenchman continue his rich vein of form for the Bavarian side, but it was summer signing Nathaniel Brown who has taken so many of the plaudits.
On a day when Kompany made the key decision to slot the former Eintracht Frankfurt standout in an unfamiliar central attacking role on his full competitive debut, the German international wasted no time in paying back a fraction of his transfer cost in the 28th minute.
With that, Brown netted his first goal for his new club while replacing Jamal Musiala, who continues to tackle recent health concerns.
Though signed as a long-term option for Bayern's left side, his performance today may hint at additional versatility that Kompany may well call upon throughout the season.
