The Rio de Janeiro referee Bruno Arleu de Araujo will take charge of Palmeiras v Santos on Wednesday 26 August at 21:30 at Nubank Parque. It is the first leg of the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals.

According to Diario Do Peixe, assistants are Rodrigo Figueiredo Henrique Correa and Thiago Henrique Neto Correa Farinha, and Rodolpho Toski Marques will run VAR. This year he has handled three Santos games.

Those were 0-0 draws with Coritiba and with Remo, both cup first legs at Vila Belmiro, and the 3-2 league defeat at Grêmio.

Last year he oversaw two Brasileirão fixtures for Santos, a 1-0 loss at Grêmio and a 1-1 draw with Atlético-MG at Arena MRV.

In 2024 he refereed the 2-1 loss at Sport in the final round of Série B, his first Santos match after a CBF-enforced absence. His previous Santos game had been the 4-3 win against Goiás at Vila Belmiro in July 2023, when he awarded a stoppage-time penalty that sealed victory. That year he also oversaw a 2-1 defeat at Cruzeiro and Santos’ Copa do Brasil exit to Bahia after a 1-1 draw at Arena Fonte Nova, 4-3 on penalties.

Earlier assignments included 2022 defeats to Coritiba, 1-0, and Atlético-MG, 2-1. He handled four league games in 2021, two wins over Coritiba in 2020, and five 2019 league matches, four wins plus a 0-0 at Internacional. He also refereed the 2019 cup tie in which Santos lost 2-1 to Atlético-MG at Pacaembu.
