Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player of the Year for the 2025–26 season.

The 31-year-old has secured one of English football’s most prestigious individual honours after edging out fierce competition from Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Arsenal’s Declan Rice.

Bruno’s triumph comes on the heels of a historic campaign that spearheaded United’s resurgence. Under the guidance of Michael Carrick, Fernandes found another gear, dictating tempo and pulling the strings of an explosive Red Devils attack.

In 34 league appearances, Fernandes has racked up an astonishing 20 assists—matching the elite creative standards set by Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry—alongside eight goals.

Following a tumultuous previous summer clouded by heavy transfer speculation and concrete offers from the Saudi Pro League, Bruno chose loyalty over a lucrative exit, and his performances on the pitch have silenced any remaining doubters.

Beyond his breathtaking underlying numbers, his defensive work rate, vocal leadership, and ability to decide games in critical moments won over fans, players, and journalists alike.

By capturing the award, Fernandes becomes the first Manchester United player to take home the crown since Nemanja Vidic in the 2010–11 season.

The achievement adds to the growing collection of individual accolades for the midfielder, who also claimed the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year award and a record-breaking fifth Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award from the United faithful.

With his future tied to Old Trafford until at least 2027, Fernandes has reaffirmed his status not just as a modern Manchester United great, but as one of the most impactful players ever to grace the Premier League.

As United prepare to return to Europe’s elite stage next season, their “Portuguese Magnifico” stands proudly at the absolute peak of his powers.
