Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has accomplished a feat no other player in the club’s history has ever achieved.
It has been an extremely underwhelming season for United, who are currently languishing in 15th place and have not surpassed 40 points, with just three games left to play.
It’s already United’s worst ever Premier League season – their previous lowest points total was 58. Ruben Amorim’s men can get a maximum tally of 48.
However, Fernandes has been one of the rare bright spots this season. The midfielder is arguably in the form of his life and, at times, has looked nearly unstoppable.
Many have opined that United would be battling relegation were it not for the crucial contributions of their skipper, and it’s hard to argue with this assessment. He has plundered eight goals and 10 assists in 33 Premier League this.
Across all competitions, the Portugal international has notched 19 goals and 19 assists. His numbers speak for themselves since he joined United from Sporting CP in January 2020.
No Premier League player has fashioned more chances than Fernandes in that period (531). He also ranks third in minutes played (16,615) and goal contribution (112 – 62 goals, 50 assists).

Now, a new statistic has surfaced, and it paints an even more impressive picture of Fernandes.
According to LiveScore, Fernandes has now recorded 10+ goals and 10+ assists at Old Trafford in all competitions for a third different season – an achievement no other player in United history has matched.
Not even the legendary figures of United’s past have managed to achieve this feat across three separate campaigns.
Fernandes reached this milestone in the 2020/21, 2022/23, and, of course, the current season, underscoring his consistent brilliance at United.
Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim and his players are back in action on Sunday when they host West Ham. Kick-off is at 14:15 BST.
