Bruno Fernandes equals Premier League single-season assist record with 20th of campaign

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has equalled the Premier League's single-season assist record.

Fernandes recorded his 20th assist of thePremier League campaign during Manchester United's clash with Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

The Portugal international fired across a driven cross in the 75th minute, which was diverted in by Bryan Mbeumo to give the Red Devils a 3-1 lead.

Fernandes's 20th assist of the campaign moves him level with former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry, who recorded 20 assists in 2002/03, and ex-Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who replicated that feat in 2019/20.

The 31-year-old still has time totake the record outright, with Michael Carrick's team set to face Brighton on the final weekend of the Premier League season.
