Bruno Genesio is set for talks with Olympique de Marseille’s hierarchy this week, as per a report from La Provence. It comes amid the Frenchman’s growing frustration with the situation at the club and a reported frustration that owner Frank McCourt has not publicly explained the situation or addressed objectives.

Genesio joined in the summer but has gone public in expressing surprise at the dire situation at the club. It is a financial situation that has seen OM forced to sell several key players without being able to recruit anyone. Genesio has lost four of his first five league games as Marseille manager and five of his first six in all competitions. It is a first in OM’s history.

L’Équipe understands that, given the situation, Genesio expects McCourt to make a public statement. However, one is not forthcoming. He is on the same page as CEO Stéphane Richard and sporting director Grégory Lorenzi. But La Provence now understands that, amid these growing frustrations, talks between Genesio and the hierarchy have been planned for this week.
