Bruno Lage is in advanced talks with Saudi side Al Diriyah.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 50-year-old has been out of work since September 2024 after leaving Benfica, and in recent weeks was linked with Besiktas in Türkiye.

Asia now looks the likeliest destination, with Al Diriyah seeking to bolster their backroom staff ahead of a debut campaign in the Saudi top flight. Discussions are said to be positive and a deal could be reached soon.

It would not be Lage’s first experience in the Middle East. Before establishing himself in European football, he worked in the United Arab Emirates with Al Ahli’s under-19s and B team.

He started the season in charge of Benfica and won the Supertaça against Sporting, the only trophy the club claimed in 2025/26. A defeat to Qarabag in the Champions League league phase prompted his exit. He has recently spoken about his time at the Estádio da Luz.
