Bruno Pittón set for surgery over knee problem

The Unión defender had been dealing with a knee injury that had kept him out of the last few matches of the Apertura Tournament. At first, the plan was to rehabilitate it with recovery work to avoid surgery, but the pain persisted and he will finally undergo an operation in the coming days.

The post-surgery recovery time will be between 4 and 6 weeks, so he would only just make it back for the start of preseason after the World Cup.
