Buffon leaves Pisa for first-team experience with Pontedera in Serie C

Louis Buffon is leaving Pisa on loan with the hope of consistent first-team playing experience at Serie C Pontedera.

The second-bottom Torri explained today in a statement: “Pisa Sporting Club announces that it has temporarily transferred the rights to the performances of the player Louis Thomas Buffon to US Città di Pontedera. Our best wishes to Louis Thomas for this new professional experience.”

The son of legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi, the 18-year-old Buffon is a Czech youth international thanks to his mother. Now, he continues to develop in the Italian third division with a side that sit at the foot of the Group B table.

So far this term, Buffon has only made four appearances for Pisa in Serie A. All of these have come from the bench.
