Italy’s Delegation Chief Gianluigi Buffon is delighted with the Azzurri’s win over France: ‘Italian pride! A performance that makes your heart beat!
The Azzurri surprisingly beat France 3-1 at the Parc des Princes on Friday night in the opening Nations League group-stage game.
Luciano Spalletti’s men reacted well after conceding only 14 seconds into the match and secured a deserved comeback win, thanks to goals from Davide Frattesi, Federico Dimarco and Giacomo Raspadori.
Buffon, Italy’s delegation chief, celebrated the Azzurri’s victory on social media with a nine-word message: ‘Italian pride! A performance that makes your heart beat!
Buffon famously beat France as a footballer in the 2006 World Cup Final, which was played in Berlin. That night, the Azzurri became world champions for the fourth time in history.
