Bukayo Saka has become the first Englishman to score 20+ goals in a single season for Arsenal since Theo Walcott in 2012-13.

The 22-year-old dispatched a cool penalty to help his side win 3-0 against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The latest strike means he has now scored 20 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions this campaign.

Arsenal dominated the first-half of the Emirates Stadium encounter but missed opportunities meant they failed to break the deadlock.

Then just five minutes before the break, Kai Havertz was brought down inside the box and the referee awarded them a penalty.

Saka stepped up and dispatched an excellent penalty to put his side 1-0 ahead.

Leandro Trossard doubled their advantage on 70 minutes by firing into the back of the net after being set up by Declan Rice.

Bournemouth thought they had pulled one back three minutes later through Antoine Semenyo, but the goal was ruled out by VAR.

Rice fired a third in stoppage-time as Arsenal sealed a comfortable 3-0 victory to open a four-point gap at the top of the Premier League.

Manchester City are scheduled to play later today against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side were not entirely convincing against Nottingham Forest last weekend and could drop points against Wolves who beat them 2-1 in the reverse fixture.
