It was his first Bremen goal in 518 days, the previous coming against Bochum on 19th April 2025. The win lifts Bremen to eighth and will surely be one of the stories of the season.

Hamburg, previously point-less alongside Gladbach, extended Merlin Polzin’s contract this week despite back-to-back 5-0 defeats. They then beat Köln 2-1, Nicolas Capalado and Yussf Poulsen scoring either side of half-time before Ragnar Ache’s late reply.
