FC Barcelona are searching for a striker heading into the summer transfer window, and it has already been reported that the main target is Julian Alvarez.

However, Atletico Madrid are not expected to make his departure easy, with the Spanish capital club even willing to make him their highest-paid player to renew his contract and stave off the Catalans’ interest.

Given the situation, Barça are not going to go overboard in their bid to sign the Argentine international and are keeping an eye on alternatives.

And, Fisnik Asllani, a 22-year-old striker for TSG Hoffenheim, is one of the forwards who has been linked with Barcelona in recent months.

Asllani’s agent speaks out

Now, Asllani’s agent, Ayman Dahmani, has acknowledged contact with Barcelona regarding a potential summer transfer.

After Asllani played a decisive role in Kosovo’s 3-4 victory over Slovakia in the World Cup play-off, scoring one of the goals for his team, Dahmani gave an interview to Erem News and discussed negotiations with the Blaugrana.

“Barcelona’s interest in the player is valid at this moment, and there has been contact from the Catalan club,” Dahmani stated, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

The agent also added that Asllani will only leave Hoffenheim if his release clause is paid. According to reports, that clause is set between €25 million and €29 million.

Under contract until 2029, Asllani has been performing at a high level this season with Hoffenheim. He has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 28 matches across all competitions.

At the international level with Kosovo, he has also scored four goals in his last seven appearances. These performances have attracted the interest of several European clubs, including Barcelona.

The forward, for his part, has already hinted that he would jump at the chance of playing for the Catalans. Only time will tell if a move materialises or not.
