After being held to a 1-1 draw by TSG Hoffenheim at home, Borussia Dortmund are all the way down in eighth place in the Bundesliga standings.
Borussia Dortmund's struggles to find consistency continued this past weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw by TSG Hoffenheim. The disappointing result means that Nuri Sahin's side have it all to do in their bid to play Champions League football next season.
The Black and Yellows are down to eighth place in the Bundesliga standings, behind the likes of SC Freiburg, VfB Stuttgart, and Mainz 05. Borussia Dortmund are five points behind fourth placed RB Leipzig, who claimed an impressive win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday to ease the pressure on Marco Rose.
At the top of the Bundesliga standings are Bayern Munich, who were handed a shock defeat by Mainz 05 this past weekend. The Bavarians were beaten 2-1 by the 05ers, who are up to seventh after making an excellent start to the season.
Reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are second, four points behind Bayern. While Eintracht Frankfurt are two points further back.
The final Bundesliga matchday of 2024 is upon us, and Borussia Dortmund will hope to clinch their first away win of the season this weekend when they make the trip to VfL Wolfsburg. The injury-hit Bayern Munich will be in action against RB Leipzig, while Bayer Leverkusen will take on SC Freiburg. So a win on Sunday could help BVB rise up the standings ahead of the winter break.
