Ridle Baku was lively on Leipzig’s right, opening the scoring, completing 91 per cent of his passes with two key passes, and winning five duels. Mainz centre-back Stefan Bell was rock solid, winning eight duels and scoring the winner.

Hoffenheim’s Ozan Kabak dominated on the deck and in the air, winning 11 duels and adding a crucial goal. David Raum impressed on the left for Leipzig, scoring and winning four of five duels.

Augsburg’s Han-Noah Massengo worked tirelessly, contributing defensively and striking a sensational winner against Bayern. Hoffenheim’s Wouter Burger influenced both ends, delivering two assists and three key passes. From the bench, Nadiem Amiri lifted Mainz with 100 per cent passing, an assist and a penalty conversion.

For Leipzig, Yan Diomande was decisive again, completing nine dribbles and supplying two assists in the win over Heidenheim. Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav came on to score brilliantly and add a key pass.

Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa completed three dribbles, struck the woodwork and found the net to cap a strong display.
