Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw says she still has more to give at City after penning a new contract with the Club.

The Jamaican announced she had signed a four-year extension with Andrée Jeglertz’s side live on stage at The After Party event in May following the successes of our Men’s, Women’s and Academy teams in 2025/26.

By doing so, she will remain at the Joie Stadium until the summer of 2030, which will also prolong her phenomenal career with the Blues to nine seasons.

Since signing from Bordeaux in the summer of 2021, Bunny has become one of world football’s deadliest strikers, scoring 118 goals and breaking a swathe of records along the way.

And after committing her future to Jeglertz’s side, she hailed the environment at the Club and paid tribute to everyone who has helped create the winning culture at City.

“There’ll always be a lot of opportunities in football, that’s just the way the game goes, but for me I want to be at a place where I’m happiest and where I can continue to grow and help the team,” she explained.

“I think for me, it’s a sense of belonging and I’ve always felt supported by the people within the Club.

“And when I say the people I don’t just mean staff, I mean the chefs, the cleaning people, the security guards who travel with us and at the gate.

“Everyone has their own personal life but whenever they come in the building, they always welcome you with a smile, and that helps, especially if you’re having a difficult time as well.

“If I ever have any difficulties, or any highs or lows, they’ve always been there and I’ve always felt that. That’s something I value and I’m grateful for.”

As the curtain fell on the 2025/26 campaign, Shaw had helped City to our first-ever Barclays Women’s Super League and FA Cup double.

Individual accolades soon followed in recognition of her 27 strikes and eight assists in all competitions during the triumphant term by Jeglertz’s team.

Having already been named WSL Player of the Season, FWA Footballer of the Year and Etihad Player of the Season as well as winning a record third WSL Golden Boot, Bunny has since been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year prize.

She added: “I’d say it’s been a journey, it’s been incredible. For me, I think my family and friends always give me stick for it, because I always want more and I don’t dwell on what’s gone, I look forward for what’s coming.

“I think at the end of my career I’ll look back and say I’ve achieved a lot of stuff but for me I’ve always been the person who has wanted more. I think I’m at a place and surrounded by people who can help me achieve that.

“I’ve won a lot of individual awards but if it wasn’t for those around me supporting me each and every day to be the best that I can be then those individual awards wouldn’t be possible, and I also think that, for me, winning the league was the biggest of them all and the FA Cup of course.

“It’s a continuous journey and it’s something that I’m grateful for. I’m looking forward for what’s to come.

“When you get your hands on trophies and the memories that you share with your team-mates, the staff and everyone around you, it makes you feel like: ‘Okay I want more of this, this vibe, this energy. This environment is something that I want to experience more often’.

“I’m definitely looking forward to next season, to be honest. I know it’s a while to go but I’m definitely excited for what’s to come.”
