Burkardt to join Germany camp early after Havertz and Musiala injuries | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt have announced that Jonathan Burkardt will travel to join the Germany squad ahead of schedule.

Burkardt was originally included in the second of two squads called up by Jürgen Klopp for the final two of Germany’s four UEFA Nations League games during the current international break.

However, the 26-year-old will link up with his Germany teammates a little earlier, ahead of Sunday’s game against Greece, after Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz both picked up thigh injuries on Thursday.

Musiala had to pull out of the starting XI for Thursday’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands after feeling discomfort during the warm-up, while Havertz was forced off in the first half.

Both players underwent MRI scans on Thursday night, but the German Football Association has yet to provide a concrete diagnosis for either player.
