TEAMtalk are reporting that both Burnley and Sheffield United are interested in Club Brugge’s central defender Jack Hendry. The Scottish international spent half of last season on loan in Italy with Cremonese before being recalled during the winter transfer window by Scott Parker. He only made eight appearances for Club Brugge during the 2022/2023 season, while in Italy he only made six.
Hendry joined Oostende on loan from Celtic during the 2020/2021 season and became a key player for the side. Under Aleksander Blessin, the side played an aggressive pressing style that won many plaudits. Alongside Arthur Theate, Hendry was a standout in the three man defence that Blessin deployed. So impressive were Hendry’s performances that, once Oostende made the loan permanent, they were able to turn a profit by selling the defender to Club Brugge.
During his first season with the then Belgian champions, Hendry made 33 appearances and scored once. The 28-year-old’s contract expires in 2025.
