Burnley have parted company with head coach Scott Parker a day before Friday’s visit to Leeds United, with assistant Mike Jackson stepping in.
The club said in a statement that Parker left by mutual consent after relegation was confirmed last week, adding that the process to appoint a permanent head coach before 2026/27 has begun. Relegation followed a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City.
Parker led Burnley to promotion last season, but his side won only four of 34 Premier League matches, one of those against Farke’s side in October.
Jackson will lead the team at Elland Road, then the remaining three league matches.
A win for Leeds would virtually guarantee their Premier League safety.
Friday will be a second successive game against an interim coach. Chelsea sacked Liam Rosenior last Wednesday after a 3-0 defeat at Brighton, with Calum McFarlane then overseeing a 1-0 Wembley win over a below-par Leeds.
Leeds also beat Manchester United 2-1 earlier this month against temporary boss Michael Carrick.
