Burnley have parted company with manager Scott Parker a day before visiting Leeds United, with the Clarets already relegated.
The club said in a statement that Parker left by mutual consent after relegation was sealed last week with a 1-0 home defeat by Manchester City. Assistant coach Mike Jackson will take interim charge for the remaining four Premier League fixtures, starting at Elland Road.
Parker guided Burnley to promotion from the Championship last season with 100 points, finishing behind Leeds on goal difference. He won only four of 34 Premier League matches, one of them against Daniel Farke’s side in October.
His 2024/25 campaign was hailed as record-breaking, featuring a 31-game unbeaten run and 30 clean sheets. He departs with the respect and gratitude of those at Turf Moor, and the search for a permanent head coach ahead of 2026/27 is under way.
Leeds know victory will virtually secure their Premier League status.
Friday will be a second successive match against an interim manager. Chelsea dismissed Liam Rosenior last Wednesday after a 3-0 defeat at Brighton, with Calum McFarlane then overseeing a 1-0 Wembley win over a below-par Leeds. Earlier this month, Leeds beat Manchester United 2-1 against temporary boss Michael Carrick.
