Burnley have outlined Derby's John Eustace and Cardiff's Brian Barry-Murphy as they seek a new permanent boss
Burnley are continuing their hunt for a new permanent boss following the departure of Scott Parker, with their search looking like it could be bad news for Derby County and Cardiff City.
Burnley's relegation back to the Championship is confirmed, but Scott Parker will not be joining them back in the second tier.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham midfielder had guided the Clarets back to the top flight in emphatic style, as although they would narrowly miss out on the league title to Leeds United on the final day, they would concede just 16 goals across 46 games and amass 100 points.
Parker had previously also helped both Fulham and Bournemouth with promotions to the top flight, but has never been able to quite make the jump to the Premier League as he did as a player.
A new permanent boss at Turf Moor is being actively sounded out by those at the club, and the latest news has it as bad news for both Derby County and Cardiff City.

As Burnley continue their managerial hunt with relegation already confirmed, the Clarets have targeted the bosses of two soon-to-be division rivals.
According to Ben Jacobs via X, both Derby County's John Eustace and Cardiff City's Brian Barry-Murphy have been outlined as contenders for the vacant position.
Eustace very nearly guided Derby into the top six this campaign, but missed out by the skin of their teeth on the final day, falling to a 2-1 defeat at home to Sheffield United, whilst results elsewhere wouldn't have been enough anyway, regardless of victory.
The former Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers boss was given full license to rebuild the Rams at Pride Park last summer and has cultivated a strong relationship with his squad, fans, and the club as a whole, and would likely need some serious convincing to leave his project with Derby behind.
Barry-Murphy, meanwhile, has helped Cardiff secure an immediate return to the Championship after the Bluebirds' relegation, with the Irishman taking the job in the Welsh capital last summer, having previously spent time in charge of Rochdale and Manchester City's development squad.
Although Cardiff would miss out on the league to Lincoln City, Barry-Murphy has done an excellent job at earning promotion with Cardiff at the first time of asking, and his achievement mustn't be understated.
Both have had positive seasons with their current employers, and with Burnley aiming to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking once again, as they have previously done with Vincent Kompany and Parker.

Naturally, both Derby and Cardiff will be looking to keep hold of their managers this summer.
Eustace would need some significant prising away from Derby if he were to leave Pride Park, whilst Barry-Murphy will be keen to establish Cardiff back in the second tier.
Burnley had also outlined former Aston Villa and Rangers boss Steven Gerrard as a potential suitor, but are seemingly considering all of their options with the latest news of interest in the Derby and Cardiff duo.
Burnley face Arsenal away and Wolverhampton Wanderers at home in their final two Premier League games before returning to the Championship, where they will hope to have lined up a permanent boss ahead of a busy summer transfer window.
Though, whether that will be Eustace or Barry-Murphy, remains to be seen.
