Burnley's Premier League relegation sealed with Man City loss | OneFootball

Burnley's immediate return to the Championship has been confirmed after their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Turf Moor. 

Despite putting in a very resolute display against the now-league leaders, the writing has been on the wall for weeks with the Clarets long marooned in the bottom three alongside already-relegated Wolves. 

Scott Parker's side have won just four games all season with only one since November. Their second and last home victory came back in October and that was followed by a seven-game losing streak that near-sealed their fate by Christmas. 

It continues a yo-yo trend for the club with this the fifth consecutive season they have either gained promotion or suffered relegation from the top-flight. 

With just four games remaining, their only aim now is to avoid a Premier League era low tally.

They sit on 20 points, four adrift of their previous worst total from the 2023/24 season under Vincent Kompany.
