Serie A newcomers Pisa had a flurry of activity on transfer deadline day, bringing in veteran Raul Albiol, promising Brazilian Lorran, and Atalanta youth product Giovanni Bonfanti.
It has been a tricky start to the campaign for the club, who had not been in the top flight for 34 years until earning promotion from Serie B last season.
They opened with an impressive 1-1 draw away to Atalanta, then suffered a slender 1-0 home defeat to Roma.
The squad was revamped over the summer for new coach Alberto Gilardino, but there were three big names brought in on deadline day.

Albiol is the most famous, although all his experience comes at a cost to fitness levels, seeing as he will celebrate his 40th birthday tomorrow.
This represents a return to Serie A for the free agent, who wore the Napoli jersey from 2013 to 2019.
He has signed a one-year deal with Pisa, and there is an option to extend for another season.
Lorran joins Pisa from Flamengo
On the other end of the age scale is Lorran, a 19-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder and winger who was snapped up from Flamengo.
He moved on loan for €0.5m with obligation to buy for €4m, though Flamengo will retain a 50 per cent sell-on clause.
Lorran represented Brazil at Under-17 level with 13 caps, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Also nearly half Albiol’s age is Bonfanti, another deadline day signing and product of the Atalanta youth academy.
He was already instrumental to Pisa’s promotion when on loan last season, making 23 appearances for the club.
The central defender is 22 years old and can also play as right-back or left-back when required.
It is a loan with obligation to buy for €6m if certain conditions are met for the Italy Under-21 international talent.
