Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Lars Ricken, said: “With his skills and potential, Samu is one of the greatest talents of his age group worldwide. We are convinced that with his dedication and quality, he can develop into an exceptional player. He is an important part of our team’s development, and that’s why we are delighted that we have been able to secure his services on a long-term basis.”
Since joining Borussia Dortmund, Inacio has played for the U17, U19, U23, and the first team, making a total of 65 appearances in the Black & Yellow jersey (14 goals, 11 assists). This season, Inacio made his Bundesliga debut on 28 February against Bayern Munich and he scored his first goal in the German top league on Matchday 33 in a 3-2 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
BVB sporting director Ole Book emphasizes: “Samu brings a lot to the table: He is intelligent on the pitch, secure on the ball, and a strong combination player. He also has a very good sense of space, which makes him a real goal threat. All these qualities, combined with his hard work and his willingness to develop further, make him a really good player who has already made good progress with us and still has big steps ahead.”
Samuele Inacio says: “I feel very comfortable at BVB and am proud to have made my Bundesliga debut with this great club. The feeling of scoring my first goal in front of the Yellow Wall was incredible, and I want to celebrate many more successful moments in the future with my team, the club, and its amazing fans.”
