Pablo Morant, part of Toluca’s coaching staff, celebrated the club’s Concacaf Champions Cup title after a penalty shootout win over Tigres. The victory also secured places at the Intercontinental Cup 2026 and the 2029 Club World Cup.

According to SuperDepor.com, Toluca hosted the decider thanks to their stronger tournament record. In the shootout Santiago Simón converted, Franco Romero had the chance to settle it but was denied by Nahuel Guzmán, and for Tigres Juan Brunetta and Angel Correa scored.

Toluca reached the final by beating Los Ángeles FC in the semi-finals. Tigres advanced after overcoming Nashville, the side who eliminated Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the first round.

It is Toluca’s third Concacaf crown after 1968 and 2003. Tigres missed the chance to add a second title to their 2020 success.

Racing Club de Trelew posted a message congratulating Pablo Morant, a former player of the club and now Toluca’s assistant. They expressed pride in seeing their alumni succeed in international football and wished him further success.
