The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled this Wednesday, October 22, the list of coaches nominated for the 2025 African Coach of the Year award.

Among the contenders is Moroccan tactician Mohamed Ouahbi, who made history by leading the Atlas Cubs to a U20 World Cup triumph a first for African football.

Croatian manager Krunoslav Jurcic, head coach of Pyramids FC, also features on the list after an outstanding season capped by several major titles, including the CAF Champions League.

Ten African coaches in the running for best coach title

The ten coaches nominated for the 2025 African Coach of the Year award are:

  • Mohamed Ouahbi, head coach of Morocco U20
  • Krunoslav Jurčić, head coach of Pyramids FC (Egypt)
  • Hossam Hassan, head coach of the Egyptian national team
  • Tarik Sektioui, head coach of Morocco's local national team
  • Mouine Chaâbani, coach of RS Berkane (Morocco)
  • Bubista, head coach of Cape Verde
  • Sami Trabelsi, head coach of Tunisia
  • Walid Regragui, head coach of the Moroccan national team
  • Romuald Rakotondrabe, head coach of Madagascar's local national team
  • Pape Thiaw, head coach of the Senegal national team
