CAF Champions League: Al Ahly confirm first place ahead of quarter-final draw

Al Ahly secured first place in Group B after 0-0 draw with AS FAR in the final round of CAF Champions League group stage.

Al Ahly confirm group B leadership

Al Ahly finished top of Group B in CAF Champions League after drawing 0-0 with AS FAR on Sunday.

The match played at Cairo International Stadium in the sixth and final round of the group stage.

Despite several attempts from both sides, neither team managed to score and the game ended without goals.

Qualification secured before final round

Al Ahly had already confirmed qualification to the quarter-finals before this match. The Egyptian champions booked their place in the knockout stage in the previous round after draw against JS Kabylie.

The draw against AS FAR allowed Al Ahly to end the group stage with 10 point placing them at the top of Group B. AS FAR finished second with 9 point and also advanced to the quarter-finals.
