CAF declares Morocco winners of AFCON 2025 | OneFootball

The Confederation of African Football said in a statement on Tuesday that Morocco are the winners of AFCON 2025. Senegal forfeit the final and the result is recorded as 3-0.

Senegal had initially lifted the trophy in Rabat on 18 January after a chaotic match in which the team briefly left the pitch in protest. CAF later upheld a Moroccan protest.

CAF’s Appeals Jury ruled that Senegal’s conduct fell within the scope of articles 82 and 84 of the competition regulations.

Article 82 states that if a team leaves the field before the end without the referee’s permission, it is deemed to have lost and is eliminated from the ongoing competition. Article 84 provides that any team breaching articles 82 or 83 is excluded and loses the match 3-0.

The decision sets the scoreline at 3-0 to Morocco. The Moroccan federation’s response framed its move as seeking application of the rules rather than disputing on-pitch performances.
