Pyramids – RS Berkane: Everything you need to know about the 2025 African Super Cup

The countdown is on for the highly anticipated CAF Super Cup showdown, an annual competition organized by CAF that pits the Champions League winner against the Confederation Cup champion.

For the 2024/2025 edition, Egyptian side Pyramids, crowned Champions League winners for the first time after defeating South Africa’s Sundowns, will take on Morocco’s RS Berkane, who claimed the Confederation Cup title against Tanzania’s Simba SC.

Officiating duties have been assigned to Sudanese referee Mahmood Ismail, assisted by Mohamed Abdallah and Gilbert Cheruiyot, while the assistant referee will be Abdel Aziz Bouh from Mauritania.

VAR will be handled by Ghana’s Dan Laryea, assisted by Tom Abu Ngil (South Africa) and Steven Onyango (Kenya).

It’s worth noting that in the last edition of the Super Cup, Al Zamalek triumphed over their historic rivals Al Ahly after a nail-biting penalty shootout (4-3) following a 1-1 draw.

The match will be played on Saturday, 18 October, at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo, home of Pyramids, with kick-off scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
