Cafú hopes Boca can be Boca again

Cafú, the legendary Brazil right-back and former captain, is in Los Angeles as a special guest at the NBA All-Star Game and has expressed his wish to see Boca rediscover its identity.

"People hope Boca can be the Boca we cheered for, the one we like and fell in love with," he told TNT Sports.

He signed off with a line that underlined his affection, "Siempre Boca".

His fondness for the blue and gold is long-standing. In 2021, speaking to TyC Sports, he named Boca as his favourite club, recalling how imposing they were to face and praising the calibre of players the club has produced.

In that interview, he also admitted one regret, not wearing the Boca shirt as a professional to feel a packed Bombonera and the deafening backing of its fans, which he described as football in its purest form.
