Inter secured a vital 2-0 win away at Cagliari and it was their captain Lautaro Martinez who once again made the difference, marking his 117th goal in Serie A for the Nerazzurri.
The Argentine striker opened the scoring early, striking in the ninth minute to set the Nerazzurri on their way.
The goal carried added weight beyond the three points.
With it, the captain moved into the top five all-time Serie A scorers for Inter, as has been noted by FCInter1908.
His tally now stands at 117 goals, surpassing club legend Sandro Mazzola.
Only Altobelli, Nyers, Lorenzi and Meazza remain ahead of him.

Against Cagliari, the forward further cemented his reputation as a tormentor of the Sardinian side, with 12 goals in as many appearances against them.
His consistency in these fixtures reflects his wider importance to Inter’s strength in maximising the points they pick up against smaller, yet tricky, sides.
With his contract running until 2029, the striker has time on his side to climb even higher in Inter’s scoring charts.
