Inter Milan secured a crucial 2-0 win away at Cagliari on Saturday evening, with Lautaro Martinez and Francesco Pio Esposito finding the net.
The result keeps Cristian Chivu’s side on track in Serie A after recent inconsistencies, while also delivering a third straight victory across all competitions.
One of the standout performers was Alessandro Bastoni.
The Nerazzurri defender was strong at the back, helping limit the Rossoblu to very few clear chances.
After the final whistle, Bastoni spoke to Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, to reflect on the game and the mentality within the squad.

“The attitude has always been there,” Bastoni explained.
“I said it even after conceding four goals to Juventus following one of our best performances in Turin in recent years.
“Of course, certain episodes can change the match,” he continued, “if that header had gone in, we’d be talking about another game.”
Bastoni added, “But the performance was there. I’m proud of the lads because every time we slip up people are ready to attack us.
“We’re a healthy group, and we always hold our heads high.”

Asked whether Inter are superior to their rivals, the defender stressed the team’s self-belief.
“I always have great confidence in us,” he said.
“Other teams have strengthened too. We expose ourselves, I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, but we have great faith in ourselves.
“All the big teams are in the race.”
Bastoni also praised young forward Pio Esposito after his late goal sealed the victory.
“I’m happy for him. We know what kind of guy he is off the pitch too. It makes me happy that he’s Italian – we need strong young players like him.”
