Cagliari 1-1 Milan Primavera: Rossoneri hold on with 10-men

AC Milan’s Primavera side were unable to get back to winning ways against Cagliari earlier today, but this is a positive result considering the visitors had 10 men for more than a third of the game.

After the 1-0 defeat last week, there was a need to bounce back at the first opportunity to do so, and whilst the result was slightly better, Milan may have hoped for more.

In the 26th minute, the hosts took the lead through Mutandwa, after some early pressure, but the young Rossoneri side drew level just 15 minutes later through Nicolo Turco deservedly, after their own period of dominance in proceedings.

The second half continued in the same manner – the game pinballing in a way with both teams enjoying spells of prominence. However, a straight red card for Nissen in the 59th minute left the Diavolo in a difficult position to move on from.

Despite the dismissal, things did not open up for either side and whilst the young side did not get many counter-attacking chances, they did not face much threat, something which would be expected with a man disadvantage.

Though the hosts had a few chances late on, they were unable to convert and Milan will be pretty happy with the result with all things considered.
