Cagliari confirm Sulemana loan from Atalanta with option to buy as Bologna spell ends

Cagliari said in a statement that Ibrahim Sulemana has joined on loan from Atalanta, with an option to buy in June 2026.

The move ends the midfielder's stint at Bologna, where he featured only four times across Serie A and the Coppa Italia for 112 minutes.

The 22-year-old Ghana international returns for a second spell in Sardinia.

In his first period with Cagliari he made 24 appearances and scored two goals as they preserved their Serie A status.

Sulemana came through Hellas Verona’s academy and was sold to Cagliari for €4 million in 2023.
