Cagliari’s 20-year-old French forward Yael Trepy left intensive care on Friday 21 August following a swimming pool accident.

According to L'Équipe, the incident happened on 16 August in Porto Cervo in the north of Sardinia, and he was taken to hospital immediately.

He had been placed in a coma and regained consciousness earlier this week. His condition is now clinically stable, with no need for further intensive support.

Trepy has started working with a physiotherapist as his recovery continues.

Trained at Créteil and born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, he has been with Cagliari since 2023. He joined the first-team group in February 2026 and has eight Serie A appearances with one goal.
