Cagliari owner Tommaso Giulini jokingly responds to Gianni Infantino’s frustration over a Simone Scuffet save on Hakan Calhanoglu saying the FIFA President ‘cheered’ on the Sardinians’ keeper.
FIFA President Infantino, a well-known Inter fan, was at San Siro on Sunday to watch the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 draw against Cagliari.
He was spotted sitting close to Nerazzurri vice president Javier Zanetti and looked upset when Cagliari keeper Scuffet saved a free kick from Calhanoglu, but he then applauded before the cameras cut off.
A Juventus fan posted the video on X, formerly Twitter, and received a funny reply from Cagliari owner Giulini: “He cheered on Scuffet’s nice save,” wrote the Sardinians president, who ended his message with red and blue heart emojis.
Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari held the Nerazzurri to a home 2-2 draw on Sunday night, earning a crucial point in the race for survival.
The newly promoted side currently sit 14th in the Serie A table, four points above the relegation zone, with six games remaining.
