“I’d like to return to Roma sooner or later, but I can’t plan it. I left it a bit half-baked,” said the Italian centreback.

“I even had the chance to play more, but then, for various reasons, I went on loan and then they sold me. I definitely didn’t do as well as I’d hoped. Even to celebrate under the Curva Sud.”

Calafiori, who has been a Roma player since his youth and made his first-team debut under Fonseca in 2020 against Juventus, expressed his special bond with the club and the city.

Despite his current stint at Arsenal, the defender explained how Roma still represents an important part of his career and his footballing dreams. Calafiori has made 10 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi, scoring his only goal in the Europa League against Young Boys.
