Arsenal host Ipswich Town in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium today.
The Gunners have recorded back-to-back wins against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup and Premier League. They will be aiming to continue the streak against Ipswich.
Mikel Arteta’s side are fourth in the standings but can move to second with a victory tonight. Arsenal are hosting Ipswich for the first time since the League Cup semi-final in 2011.
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted Line-up:
David Raya made two crucial saves against Palace last weekend, which ensured that Arsenal were in the ascendancy.
The Gunners secured a comfortable 5-1 win in the end. The Spaniard is guaranteed to continue in goal.
There will be one defensive change, with Miles Lewis-Skelly being replaced by Riccardo Calafiori at left-back.
Calafiori needs more minutes under his belt to prepare for the bigger away challenges at Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion next year.
Jurrien Timber should keep his place at right-back, with William Saliba partnering with Gabriel Magalhaes in the heart of the defence.
Thomas Partey could make way for Declan Rice’s return in midfield. The Englishman was superb in his cameo display against Palace with a goal and an assist.
Partey has been injury-prone in the past and could be given a breather. Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard will likely partner with Rice in a midfield three.
There will be an enforced change further forward with Bukayo Saka out with a hamstring injury.
Arteta should opt for the same combination after Saka’s substitution last weekend. Leandro Trossard is expected to start on the left wing, with Gabriel Martinelli on the right.
Martinelli has impressed in his two appearances on the right wing this year. He was exceptional against Everton in May and also impressed against the Eagles on Saturday.
Gabriel Jesus should be a confirmed starter up front on the back of five goals in two games.
The Brazil international has found a rich vein of form and Arsenal fans will be hoping he can continue scoring, particularly with Saka ruled out.
