Just a week after fighting their way to a comeback 2-2 draw at Ibrox in the league, Celtic are back at the home of their rivals on Sunday, this time on Scottish Cup duty.

Last weekend the Hoops fought back with two second-half goals to level the game and, ahead of this week’s encounter, club captain, Callum McGregor spoke to Celtic TV about the importance of taking that second-half performance into this cup clash that obviously has to be played to a win.

He said: “For sure it’s a different mindset, you go there and there’s a winner.

“Someone has to come out on the right side of it, and we have to try and make sure it’s us.

“So, on the day the mindset is you want to win the game, because if you want to win the cup you have to win these games.”

Another difference this time around is that there will be 7,500 Hoops fans filling the stand at the Celtic End as the full allocation for cup games kicks in for the first time in a while, and the skipper is looking forward to experiencing that once more.

He said: “Firstly, it’s really exciting as it’s obviously the first time for a long time that there’s been a full stand in there, so we have to take advantage of that as well.

“I think, obviously everyone watching the game last week, they see the momentum at the end of the game.

“So can we start the game positively, can we get on the front foot and really make some noise and try and make our presence felt in the game, in the stadium.

“And, like I said, there can only be one winner, so we have to go in there with the mindset that it’s going to be us.”
