Italian football is currently experiencing a striker drought and the boy wonder that is believed to be the answer is Francesco Camarda. The 16-year-old plays his trade for AC Milan and he is currently on the next step of his journey to fulfilling his destiny.

When Milan announced the Futuro squad, it was done to improve the young players at the club whilst being able to continue mentoring them and monitoring them at Milanello, rather than sending them on loan.

Not only does it give players the ability to shadow the first team still, but it also allows a natural step into senior football from the Primavera ranks, rather than being shoehorned into professional football through the senior ranks.

Of course, there will still be players who drift between the squads, and a player who has been suggested to do this in recent weeks has been Camarda because of Alvaro Morata’s injury. The Rossoneri have an evident lack of a third striker and the youngster has been suggested to be involved in some capacity in the weeks of the Spaniard’s absence.

Nevertheless, the teenager played for Daniele Bonera’s side this weekend, and although the side lost, it is another step into professional football for him. Following the game, Camarda took to Instagram to comment on the loss, and Milan News relayed his words.

“We work day by day to improve more and more and we won’t back down for anything or anyone! Forza Milan.”
