Cameroon: Samuel Eto'o announces a new policy for national team coaches
The president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) has unveiled a new policy regarding the national team coaches.
During an interview with Digital B Agency, Samuel Eto'o recently announced a major change at Fecafoot. He stated that the salaries of the national team coaches are now being covered by the federation itself, which he currently heads.
"After 26 years in the game, I’ve seen how things are done elsewhere. I told myself, this can’t go on. We cannot continue like this—with this economic model where we constantly turn to the state and ask it to cover all the expenses of the national teams. That would mean I haven’t managed to change anything. But for that, we needed time to make a difference. We have started to change. For example, we now pay the salaries of all the national team coaches ourselves. It’s us who handle their pay now," declared the former Cameroonian international.
